Medal Valuations

Among this large and varied collection was a Version 1 Queens South Africa medal. There were only around 50 awarded and can be easily identified from version 2 and 3 by the years 1899-1900 below the wreath. There were telephone bidders, on-line bidders from around the world and local bidders in the room. It eventually sold to a private collector for £5600. Though not the most expensive medal we have sold, it is the history behind it that makes it one of the most interesting, as a version 2^nd and 3^rd of the medal make in the region of £200.
