A late 19th/early 20th century oil on board portrait of an English bulldog, signed indistinctly to the lower right corner, 17.5cm x 18cm, the frame 24.5cm x 25cm

Please see the attached condition report images. The frame has some chipping and scratching to it and shows signs of age related wear. The painting has a white mark on the dogs neck and I am unsure if this is original or not. We cannot confirm the provenance as this has come from a house clearance.
